Grace Kelley, 28, daughter of Wynonna Judd, recalls a childhood marked by trauma rather than glamour. Despite her family’s fame, she says her pain was hidden behind silence and image. Between ages 12 and 17, Kelley cycled through 14 facilities while battling addiction, mental health struggles, and family dysfunction. “My story is so messed up,” she admitted in a July 2025 interview. Though raised in church, she says home life rarely reflected those values.
Fame offered no protection. Kelley alleged that her former stepfather, D.R. Roach—Judd’s ex-husband and bodyguard—molested her as a child. He was arrested in 2007, when she was 10, and later pled guilty to attempted aggravated sexual battery. Kelley claims her mother divorced him only after the case became public, saying, “She was never a mother.”
As an adult, Kelley’s struggles continued. From 2023 to 2024, she was arrested multiple times for parole violations, indecent exposure, fleeing police, and drug-related charges. A turning point came in October 2024 after a drug-fueled incident in Charlottesville led to her arrest. A plea deal and six weeks in jail gave her the chance to detox.
Through Pastor Kent Hart and his wife Megan, Kelley found faith and stability. Baptized earlier this year, she now attends church and calls Charlottesville her true home. “Ever since I gave my life to God—it’s just beautiful. I love it here,” she said.
