Actor and celebrity photographer Brad Everett Young is best known for his roles on TV series and in movies including Grey’s Anatomy, Boy Meets World, Charlie’s Angles, and Jurassic Park III. Later in his career, he stepped off screen and behind the camera where he worked as a photographer taking pictures of celebrities including Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Harbour for publications such as The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, People and Variety.
Sadly, Young has died at the age of 46. His representative, Paul Christensen, told The Hollywood Reporter that Young was in a fatal car accident on the 134 freeway in Los Angeles. A driver who was driving the wrong direction on the freeway crashed into Young’s car. Young was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was taken to the hospital.
The Daily Mail reports that addition to his work in front of and behind the camera, Young also founded a grassroots organization called Dream Loud Official. The goal of this organization is to restore and preserve music and art programs in school across the US.
Upon hearing the news of Young’s death, many actors and actresses he has worked with throughout his career shared their condolences on social media.
Actor Chris McKenna, who plays Jack on General Hospital, shared some pictures Young took on Instagram and wrote, “These were taken just a couple weeks ago by the late @bradley206 we won’t see another like him.”
Actor Parry Shan, who also works on General Hospital, called Young “one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever met” and shared that he stood out because of “his indomitable positivity.” Shan explained that Young “was always striving to make the situation better.”
Young was born in Virginia but moved to Los Angeles to go to medical school. That never happened. Instead, within a month of movie to Los Angeles, he auditioned for a TV series, got the job, and joined the Screen Actors Guild. In an interview in 2015, he said, “I absolutely fell in love with everything in this business and the journey and strength it takes to accomplish what you want in it.”
