One quiet evening, as we curled up on the couch, I gave his hand a squeeze.
“I can’t wait until we have our own place,” I whispered.
“Me too,” he said with a soft sigh. “Just need a little more time to save up. Houses are ridiculously expensive right now.”
“I know,” I replied, smiling. “But when we do, I want a big kitchen. And a backyard.”
“For a dog?” he teased.
“For a baby,” I said, grinning.
He leaned over and kissed my forehead. “We’ll get there.”
