“Sending this photo to my ‘beloved husband’”

One ordinary day, I innocently sent my husband a snapshot of me beside our neighbor’s beloved horse, Thunder. The sizable, docile black horse had captured my affection while volunteering at the stables. Little did I anticipate the chaos that would ensue.

Upon viewing the photo, my husband’s reaction was unexpected and extreme. With a closer look, he fixated on a particular detail and abruptly declared, “I want a divorce.” Bewildered, I tried to comprehend his sudden outburst and accusations.

His focus landed on a peculiar shadow in the image, resembling a man’s silhouette standing behind me, hands gently placed on my waist. Despite my earnest explanations, he remained convinced of a betrayal orchestrated by the harmless shadow. Trust faded in an instant as doubts clouded his perception of our relationship.

Despite my insistence on the innocent nature of the picture, he couldn’t overcome the illusion created by the shadow. Our once-solid foundation trembled under the weight of suspicion, and attempts to reason only deepened the chasm between us.
