Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Trump, has mostly grown up outside the spotlight, but the 17-year-old recently revealed her close bond with “Grandpa Donald.” Born in 2007 to Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa, Kai is the eldest of Trump’s 10 grandchildren. She spent much of her childhood in New York before moving with her mother to Jupiter, Florida. Though she kept a low profile early on, Kai appeared more publicly during Trump’s campaigns, and in July 2024, she gave her first-ever speech at the Republican National Convention.

Calling her grandfather “caring and loving,” she charmed the crowd by adding that he sneaks the grandkids candy and soda when parents aren’t looking. One of her most emotional moments came at the RNC, just after Trump survived an assassination attempt. “It was the first time I’d seen him since,” she shared. “We got a little teary-eyed, both of us. I’ll never forget that.”

Outside politics, Kai is passionate about golf. A standout player at The Benjamin School, she recently won her club championship and announced her commitment to the University of Miami’s women’s golf team. She often plays against her grandfather, admitting their matches get competitive: “He always gives me a run for my money.”

Grounded and focused, Kai insists she isn’t headed for politics just yet—her future is on the green.
