Brian Fitzpatrick Proposes to Jacqui Heinrich in Lavender-Field Sunrise—A “Fairy Tale” Moment

A Sunrise Proposal in Provence

Fox News senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich is officially engaged. She said “yes” to Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick on June 29, 2025, after a romantic proposal in a lavender field at sunrise in Valensole, Provence, France.

The 36-year-old journalist and the 51-year-old congressman have been together for four years. Fitzpatrick planned the trip as a birthday gift, fulfilling Heinrich’s dream of visiting the French Riviera — “to eat the baguettes, see the lavender fields, drink the wine and eat the butter,” she told People. Despite looming congressional votes, Fitzpatrick insisted on keeping their plans.

A Carefully Orchestrated Moment

The couple left Nice at 1:30 a.m. and drove two hours to reach the fields before dawn. Under the pretense of taking photos, Heinrich walked into the lavender rows, where a photographer and drone appeared to capture the moment. Fitzpatrick then presented her with a brilliant-cut round diamond solitaire set in platinum with a yellow gold band, crafted by Heinrich’s family jeweler in Portland, Maine.

Heinrich described the scene as “breathtaking,” adding, “It’s a memory seared into my brain for life. It felt like a fairy tale.”

Family Blessings and Shared Values

Before proposing, Fitzpatrick flew to New Hampshire to ask her father’s blessing. Heinrich recalled her father tearing up, while Fitzpatrick’s parents, now in their 90s, were overjoyed.

What she admires most about him, Heinrich said, is his kindness, intelligence, and faith. “He’s sweet, gentle, and strong. He makes life brighter and brings me closer to God.”

Their Story Together

Fitzpatrick, who has represented Pennsylvania’s 1st District since 2017, previously served as an FBI special agent and federal prosecutor. Heinrich joined Fox News in 2018 and later became its White House correspondent.

The couple’s first date at the Kennedy Center Honors in December 2021 revealed instant chemistry. Heinrich recalled laughing so much at Fitzpatrick’s quiet jokes that nearby guests noticed. After the show, they lingered in the marble halls before talking for hours in his car — a night she said felt more like the beginning of something lasting than a typical first date.

Looking Ahead

The couple plans a large Catholic wedding. In the meantime, they will celebrate with a housewarming and engagement party at their new home.
