Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Star Wenne Alton Davis Passes Away at 60

Actress Wenne Alton Davis, known for her appearance in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, has died at the age of 60 after being struck by a car in New York City. The incident happened Monday around 9 p.m. as she was crossing West 53rd Street and Broadway. Authorities say she suffered severe trauma to her head and body and was taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, a 61-year-old man operating a 2023 Cadillac XT6, remained at the scene and was not injured. As of Wednesday, no charges have been filed. According to Entertainment Weekly, Davis had been out to dinner with friends and was walking toward the train station when the accident occurred. The NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is continuing to investigate the case.

Davis, born in 1965, first moved to New York in her 20s to pursue stand-up comedy before transitioning into acting. To support herself, she worked at JFK International Airport while building her career.
Her manager, Jamie Harris, remembered her as “a bright light,” adding, “She had a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK, and most of all, her family and her circle of friends. Friendliness and kindness were simply who she was.”

Wenne Alton Davis appeared in a 2023 episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, as well as Blindspot, New Amsterdam, and The Normal Heart.
Rest in peace, Wenne Alton Davis.
