Legendary director Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead inside their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, 2025. Authorities are treating the deaths as an apparent homicide.

Police and first responders were called to the residence around 3:30–3:40 p.m. local time after a report of medical aid needed; when firefighters and officers entered, they discovered the couple deceased.

Law enforcement officials have stated the victims suffered knife wounds consistent with stabbing, and the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division is leading the investigation. So far, no suspect has been publicly identified or taken into custody.
