Rob and Michele were found dead at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, in what authorities are investigating as a homicide. Multiple sources told People that Romy was the one who discovered them. The outlet also reported that the couple’s son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Their other son, Jake Reiner, has also remained silent publicly. Rob and Michele had been married for 36 years. They met in the late 1980s while working on When Harry Met Sally… and married in 1989, becoming one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples.
In addition to Romy, Jake, and Nick, Rob Reiner was also father to Tracy Reiner, whom he adopted during his marriage to the late Penny Marshall. Tracy briefly spoke to NBC News following the tragedy, saying, “I came from the greatest family ever. I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”
