‘Wheel of Fortune’ ignites backlash with disputed final round puzzle.

Another Controversy Hits Wheel of Fortune

Viewers shook their heads after the February 14 episode of Wheel of Fortune. Many called the bonus round puzzle unfair — and some even doubted if it was a real phrase at all.

Conner Kemmsies Faces a Tough Challenge

Conner Kemmsies, a commercial pilot from Lakeside, California, reached the final round after an impressive run, winning $19,080 in cash and prizes — including a six-day whale-watching cruise to Baja, California. Cheered on by his wife and family, Conner prepared for the bonus puzzle.

The Puzzle That Divided Fans

The category was “Phrase.” After revealing the usual R, S, T, L, N, E letters plus Conner’s picks — C, M, D, and A — the board showed:

_ D _ D M _ _ _ M E _ _ R _

Conner quickly solved the first part: “I DID MY” but struggled to finish it. The answer?

I DID MY HOMEWORK.

When the timer ran out, Conner chuckled to host Ryan Seacrest, “Aw, dude, I don’t do homework anymore. I’m not in school now.”

Fans Question the Phrase’s Validity

Social media and YouTube comments exploded. Many viewers argued “I DID MY HOMEWORK” isn’t a common phrase but just a simple sentence.

  • “That’s not a phrase, that’s just a sentence.”
  • “It took me a second to get it, but seriously, no one says that as a phrase.”

While some found the puzzle easy, others called it one of the hardest recently.

Bonus Round Prize Wheel Sparks Outrage

Beyond the puzzle, fans complained about the bonus round prize wheel. Once again, it landed on the $40,000 minimum payout — a pattern many viewers say happens way too often.

  • “Why even have a bonus wheel if it almost always lands on $40,000?” one fan questioned.

Is Wheel of Fortune Losing Its Magic?

This isn’t the first time Wheel of Fortune has faced backlash over questionable puzzles and predictable prizes. With Ryan Seacrest now hosting, some fans wonder if the show’s magic is fading.
